What started this morning, as a simple and innocent question, because a waffle festival (sort of).
One wanted Chocolate, the other "plain", compromise is not part of their vocabulary. So to make all fair we had "swirly" waffles (mommy is still getting the hang of that one).
So hear is the "recipe" for Swirly waffles.
Swirly Waffles: (1 recipe plain waffles, one recipe chocolate waffles)
Basic Waffles:
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1 cup milk
1 egg
Mix thoroughly in bowl. Set aside
Chocolate Waffles:
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
2 Tbsp sugar
1 Tbsp cocoa powder
1 square unsweetened Bakers (c) chocolate
3/4 cup milk
1 egg
2 tbsp melted butter
1 tsp vanilla
Melt chocolate square & butter in microwave, in microwave safe bowl, set aside. Combine remaining dry ingredients in bowl, set this aside. Combine milt, egg & vanilla in bowl, mix thoroughly, and then add to dry ingredients. Mix Thoroughly, add chocolate/butter mixture. Mix thoroughly.
Now swirl chocolate & Basic Waffle batter onto waffle iron. Follow waffle iron direction from here.
Yummy, waffles for all :)
Cheers.
